As an important part of Loongson's software and hardware ecosystem, Loongson general GPU has made breakthroughs, which can support graphics acceleration, high-performance computing, AI computing, etc., helping Loongson open a new track of artificial intelligence, and also contribute to the construction of a new development pattern of China's information industry.
According to previous reports, Loongson GPU is currently in the IP design and verification stage, and plans to deliver tape-out in 2024, and the independent display product will be launched in 2025 with the acceleration function of general computing and AI computing.
On the investor interactive platform, it was said that Loongson GPUs are positioned differently from NVIDIA GPUs. The positioning of Loongson GPU is to form a self-matching with Loongson CPU, form system advantages, and reduce system costs. The Loongson GPU R&D project has achieved preliminary results.
Loongson's first-generation GPU core LG100 has been applied in 7A2000 and 2K2000, and the development of the second-generation Loongson GPU core LG200 is underway, supporting graphics acceleration, scientific computing, and AI computing. Graphics APIs and computing APIs such as OpenGL, OpenCL, and Vulkan are supported.
